typical braille menu
Our menus are produced to accommodate the needs of your visually impaired patrons. They have plastic covers for both durability and protection. The cover page can be customized to include your logo. A spiral plastic binding allows the menu to lie and stay flat for easier reading. Each menu contains both Braille descriptions and large print versions of your menu.

Sears National Kids Cancer Ride

On June 12 June, 2009, my good friend Carl Vancer and I (Terry Hoddinott - owner of Braille Masters), rode a tandem along with 36 National Riders in an incredible journey from Vancouver to Halifax to raise much-needed funds for Childhood Cancer. I have been totally blind since age 3 as a result of Retinoblastoma, and both my children have had the same cancer.
Welcome to Braille Masters

We are a Canadian business dedicated to equal access. We provide Braille and Large Print products such as restaurant menus, hotel directories, business cards, and Braille signage to Canadian and international customers.
We have been producing top-quality materials at great rates since 1991. Some of our customers include: <a href="http://www.swisschalet.com/"target="_blank">Swiss Chalet, <a href="http://www.caseysgrillbar.com"target="_blank">Casey's, <a href="http://www.kelseys.ca"target="_blank">Kelsey's, Holiday Inn,<a href="http://www.eastsidemarios.com/"target="_blank"> East Side Mario's, Pizza Hut, <a href="http://www.montanas.com"target="_blank">Montana's and <a href="http://www.bostonpizza.com/?q=bostonpizza_splashpage"target"_blank">Boston Pizza.

Why is it important to provide Braille and Large Print materials?:

They are a valuable service for visually impaired customers; seniors with low vision love them.

Seniors who find "busy" menus difficult to follow may also find our large print menus easier to read.

They can help to widen your client base. 6% of the population have some form of visual impairment.

Our professional, complimentary window stickers are a powerful public relations tool. They also remind staff that materials are available in braille and/or large print.

Legislation may soon be enacted making equal access (including access to all print material) mandatory.

They enable visually impaired customers to independently browse the menu without the aid of your staff.

People who have difficulty seeing in low light conditions or those who forgot their reading glasses may also benefit from these menus.

Even if patrons with visual impairment don't use Braille or large print materials, they are guaranteed to appreciate the offer and remember your establishment.

We base our quotes on quantity of materials to be produced. We rarely recommend more than 2 Braille or large print menus per store. You'll be surprised at how affordable equal access can be!
Braille Masters is a Canadian Company commited to serving Restaurants, Hotels, and anyone who wishes to support the needs of visually impaired people. Terry Hoddinott, owner and operator of Braille Masters, is totally blind and started the company in 1991. He has a true appreciation for the importance of this service and understands the freedom and independence it gives people with visual disabilities.

Over the years, the business has grown and gained an excellent reputation for high quality Braille and large print materials in a timely manner, at an affordable price. We believe in accessibility...within reason!

Today we provide Braille and large print materials for most of the large restaurant chains across Canada in addition to numerous other businesses. The CNIB often refers to us in helping to meet Braille and large print needs in the community.
